Collect any tooth fragments you can find. Rinse them gently with water and store them in a clean container with milk or saliva.
Gently rinse with warm water to clean the area. Do not scrub or use mouthwash, which can irritate the exposed tooth.
If there is bleeding, apply a piece of clean gauze to the area with gentle pressure for 10 minutes or until the bleeding stops.
Hold an ice pack against the outside of your cheek near the broken tooth to reduce swelling and pain. Use 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off.
